How To Choose A Career

Derrick Said:

How NCFM certifications are useful to non management students to settle or to choose stock market as a career?

We Answered:

NCFM is not a value addition to you. You shouldn't have done BCA and MCA in the first place. You should have done Commerce course. NCFM certifications will not add to your resume any meaningful weight.

NCFM is meant only for the people who are pursuing share broking related career space. And the Capital Market ( dealers ) and Derivative Market ( dealers ) are most useful certifications in NCFM stable. Both these modules are very helpful to BOLT operators etc.

How to choose career path?

We Answered:

A great degree that can certainly apply to many positions so kudos to you.

I would do my research and make a list of companies close to where you live first. You can check on a few things for background:

Stock prices- are they doing well?
Articles online about the organization- positive, negative?
Search their website for career openings to get an idea of positions that they hire for and what is open
Talk to folks you know when you find a few who interest you...they may know someone who works there that can give you an inside scoop!

Try a professional networking site like "linkedin" You can type in a company and see any employee who has networked on this site and contact them with questions.

GOOD LUCK!

Help me i dont know what to choose! Career options!?

We Answered:

Well, they both require your creativity, but are very different.

Hair dresser: A very "service" oriented career. You won't make big bucks salary wise, but you'll make up for it in tips. This can make for some quick cash when you need it while not waiting for payday. You can work anywhere, and hairdressers are always needed. Plus you get to be creative and make people look pretty :) Some downsides? You rely on the public and your clients to keep your pay nice. You need to be able to take criticism well, and deal with people that won't always be cooperative...aka kids, grumpy old people who want their hair "just so."

Interior Designer: You get to work with different mediums, different styles and a variety of rooms and houses to decorate. It's a very versatile career that will never get boring! Plus, depending on where you work, you can make some decent money :) Downsides? You might have to move to a city that needs an interior designer, or work for a company that is already established before going off on your own--I'm not sure about the demand for them now, but I know a career in the arts can sometimes be hard for this reason.

Good luck--they are both pretty interesting!

How can one motivate itself in a chosen career?

We Answered:

Is there any career for which you DO feel motivated? If so, choose that instead.

Rene Said:

Before I choose a career in the Alternative Medicine field such as Herbalism or Etc....?

We Answered:

Alt med is called that because they have no basis in science or have not been proven to work. As such, alt med practitioners do not have the same education as doctors, nurses and other professionals in the allied medical fields. There are no new researches or breakthroughs in alt med because most practices are bound to old practices and are resistant to change. Alt med practitioners also do not have the same strict regulation as the medical professionals. They do not work in hospitals, are not covered by insurance and most do not have professional organizations.

If you (sadly) decide to proceed with your misguided plan, you will be working in the fringes of actual science, never getting the respect of the mainstream public. Your knowledge will stagnate as your alt med field is left behind by the amazing advances in science and medicine. You will not work in a hospital, and you will not earn as much as any of the medical professionals.

If you really want to go into something worthwhile, go into medicine or nursing or any of the other medical professions. Don't waste your time and effort on this.

Good luck. Make the right decision.

What classes should I take in high school for my chosen career path?

We Answered:

Ahhh, I found myself in your shoes a few years ago. I however, made the mistake of joining the air force to fly and it didn't work out so well -- in terms of being a pilot. You have MANY decisions ahead of you, as there are MANY paths to take to the job you want.

But to answer your question simply, assuming you want to go to college, I would take the courses in your high school that are "college prep." At my high school that included going all the way through and taking Calculus (as most colleges will require you to take it in some form). I would recommend taking other courses that are advanced such as science and english (even though AP English didn't go so well for me). Other than that I would take electives that will provide you with good life skills. As an example, the BEST course I took in high school was "typing." That should tell you how old I am!!

If you want and have the opportunity, I would say the only course you can take to learn to fly is to go out to the airport and learn to fly. You can actually attain your Private Pilot Certificate at age 17, so go for it!!! If your high school happens to have some sort of flight bridge program with the local airport, go for that too. Go hang around the airport and try to find a job there or volunteer to wash airplanes for rides, etc. Get out there into it and you'll start to learn about it!!!!

After that you have several choices as to how to become a commercial pilot. Starting with what type of commercial pilot do you want to be?

Good luck!!!! Hope to see you here in a few years!
