Im currently in college and have been driving myslef and my subject choices to study Midwifery at university.
However after doing volunteer work at my local maternity ward, ive realised that i really dont like the hospital environment.
Im just trying to think of things im interested in and jobs that could be related to it. For example, now im looking into going into policing (rather different to midwifery i know :/)
But to answer your question, i think the only way to figure out you career is to try and get as much experience as you can in the fields that youre interested in, and see if you enjoy them or not. Still being in uni, you can afford to completely change your mind about your job as youre still so young :)

it's hard to decide. but from my experience... I didn't believe before and couldn't afford it anyway... but it is true you should explore and take a number of classes that might interest you in your first year to see what you really can do well and have an interest in.

If you don't do good, even if you graduate it'll be hard to find a job and even if they give you a job, you might not be confident to do it...

But I'm sure if you do it the right way, you'll be good in it. Just visit the student support center or find such books to learn about studying strategies and time management -- it'll really helps. And if you find the subject really too difficult for you. Try taking lower level class first to built better fundation.

Also, volunteering or simply talking to person who is already in the career helps too. It will give you an actual picture of what it is really like. You'll be likely to discover something you might not expect. Ask about pros and cons.

Hi Void...... in my openion no one knows what he actally wants. This question is just to find your self out of your own self. So let us find on some other basis. For example... in your matter... why you have choosen Engineering for graduation. If for new inventions then you should continue in search for carrier in Engineering field, otherwise, if for respective job and handsome earning... then avail any equilent oppertunity you get and you can change them as per availability of better chances.

It is very important :-
1---- Chances are rare hence must be availed.
2---- No one is satisfied with his Job after working on it.
