edit: Most likely only the bozos that squeaked and cheated their way through psychologist training downthumbed me. However, if you are any good in the field, you study research papers on clinical trials, etc. These studies ALL use scientific methodology, which is mainly statistics, for hypothesis testing, and to create discussion and make conclusions.

As a former medical assistant myself, I would advise you to look into something else. I ended up with a 30 something k loan for my associates degree in medical assisting. A lot of these medical assisting programs present the program as being an MA is like being a nurse. Which is just untrue. Yes, some things overlap but an MA is not a nurse. Typically to start out an MA only makes 10/hr if they are lucky. You can't raise a family on that income on top of all the student loans. If your interested in the medical field I would suggest either going to a CNA class to become a CNA (which I don't believe takes long at all, could be wrong) and I believe CNA's start out at around 10/hr but heres the catch, a lot of places will provide tuition reimbursement while you peruse your LPN or RN. Another route you could try is an LPN program. You can take the course at your area vocational school and it is fairly inexpensive. About 9K for everything. Or you could look into getting into an RN program but those take at least 2 years to complete and acceptance is very competitive. I also was a new mom when I applied to LPN school and honestly I love it! You get lots of hands on training and the instructors are great. So in my opinion if your intersted in nursing stay away from the MA programs. But if your not interested in becoming a nurse and you like clerical and some minor clinical work it may be a great thing for you! Just not a lot of jobs and not very good money. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Start by paying close attention to your grades in high school. Do all of your homework on time and to the best of your ability. Be respectful to adults.

Much of that will cary over to your adult life. You have to start with goals now that apply to you. Start with little things and you will gain more confidence as you mature.

Keep involved in sports or other physical activity. It will help you get in good shape to do the physical aspect of the Marines. Sports also teaches you team work and how to be part of something where you have to depend on others to win the game.

You could also consider a ROTC scholarship if you want to go to college. You can go to any state university and take the programs and have a degree. If you do that you will be an officer. Know that Marines go to Navy ROTC.

If you want to enlist that is cool too. I was enlisted in the Navy. I didn't go until I was a little older, but I did well enough.

You should also consider volunteerism around your community. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities in most cities and or counties across the United States. Sometimes you go to a local church or community center. You might want to look up volunteer jobs on the internet.

Just start with your friends and family members doing parties with them and get bookings for more parties from that. You can always put your business cards in the kinds of places you mentioned just be sure to check with a manager to make sure it's ok! Also, if you get permission, you can put a fishbowl at a couple businesses as a monthly drawing for a free product or gift certificate (The Satin Hands is a good product to raffle!) Just check it every week or so and draw at the end of a month for a winner. You can also call the others and let them know they didn't earn the grand prize but did win a free facial with you! And you won't waste all your money as long as you don't invest too much in inventory until you are further along in your business and get wise to what sells the best.. I personally only keep inventory for my best sellers. Such as the Satin Hands, Satin Lips, Ultimate Mascara, Bronzer and Highlighter, and a couple Miracle Sets. Kid, unless you are going to a fine arts college forget being a creator. If cant speak Japanese at a native level and you can do WACC calculations in less than 10 seconds, then forget being in some other end of the business. Get into finance, and then become a producer.
