ok you need to generally look good and look proffesional
be punctual... never be late bc you simple cannot , the pilot has to take off on the right time, he cannot miss his slot otherwise there could be serious consequences, All the flight attendants and the pilot have a meeting before every flight, you will have a test set of questions before also to make sure you know 100% all the safety procedures etc and to make sure you are not even slightly drunk.
You need to have great excellent customer skills, you need to be very confident and work well in a team and also indivudually. Common sense is a must! When your talking you should always give them eye contact and make sure you listen to everything the passenger asks. You must be willing to put others first before you in an emergency.
Another thing would be if you forget your ID badge then you wil be asked to go back home immeditaely and possibly sacked. You cannot afford 1 day forgetting your id badge!
you must be able to stand up for long hours of time and not get tired to easily. If the flight has been delayed that you was due to go on and you have another one at a certain time.. so you might have to miss that one bc in the rules you need a certain amount of hours sleep before your next one due to safety reasons!
Knowning another language is always a positive, and on some airlines its essential!
You need to know how to interact with all different ages of people. You need to look aproachable and smile , they do not want to employ someone with a miserable face.
Remeber your the face of the organization and its very important to keep it having a good reputation!
Every flight attendant is also trained to know how to give birth to a baby etc, you will come across this alot and most people give birth onboard is actually proved that it has a great chance of deing.
You need to take every situation serious and cannot afford ignoring things.
You need to not be so short because you will need to reach the over head lockers.
Things that you might come across when working on board are: unaccompanied minors, drunken teenagers off to a booze holiday, fighting, arguing between other passengers, ill passengers, pregant passengers in labour, nervous passengers, passengers overweight, passengers with disablities, passengers with special needs. Remeber the passenger sitting near the exit door needs to be generally fit and well incase of emergency ! Nothink should be blocking the walkways, all the bags should be secured on the over head, and you should be in a positive helpful mood! Leave your problems with you at home, your in work and you should always put 100% effort in
