I Need A New Career

Try medical billing, all community colleges have them. After finishing you can work from home or work for someone.

Need a New Career with only Retail Management Experience?

We Answered:

With that kind of Retail Management time under your belt, I bet you have developed all kinds of skills in customer service, employee motivation, finance and budgeting, negotiation and conflict management. You're probably great at managing schedules and resources to their best effect, not to mention you may have had to be very creative in merchandising, display and promotion. Marketing departments, Sales teams and Call Centres are always looking for those kind of skills! Look at what you enjoy most about your current role, and try to go for the roles in areas where you can continue to use those skills - if you love the customer service part, try a service centre supervisory role, eg. If sales and finance are more your thing, go to a corporate sales role.
Yours is the type of role that really equips you for a lot of other jobs and careers, regardless of college degree. Don't let anyone (including yourself) tell you different!

I am a high school English teacher who is moving to Chicago. I need a new career. Any suggestions?

We Answered:

You could try writing, possibly freelance. Make connections with people with similar interests and maybe they will have some suggestions, possibly good connections for you. Good luck.

I need a new career, I am tired of my job. Any advice?

We Answered:

When I was pregnant with my 1st child I couldn't work the long hours (12 hour days) So I went to school for nail technology. It only too about 12 weeks to complete and I wa able to work at a spa with very flexiable hours, decent pay and great tips. I would average about 200 -300 dollars per shift. Some weeks I worked 30 hours and others I worked 12 hours depending on my mood. I had my daughter I went back to work and 10 years later when I got pregnant with my son I went back to another spa. I am currently back at work, but I do nails at home for family and friends. It is nice extra money. I am not telling you to sign up to become a nail tech, but just do what I did. Look for something that does not take long to learn and something that you like and you can use it for the time beig and when ever you need to m ake extra cash. Also make sure it is something that may save you money too.
