I Want To Change Career

Marian Said:

Reason why i want a career in museum, and why i wish to change career?

We Answered:

I don't know. Why are you interested in a traineeship? I think it would be pretty cool to work at a museum and look at paintings all the time, but then I thought it was cool to work in a bookstore before I got hired at one.

Willard Said:

I need help. I am driving myself crazy. I want to change career paths but I dont have the resources?

We Answered:

There are some intern programs available, especially if you are in school or about to graduate. I think if you can find a job in your area then you can pay off your debts and then head west. I live in california and so many people come here looking for jobs w/o realizing how expensive it is to live here. You might try to get a job in the accts dept of a studio or doing something you are trained to but for the entertainment industry. Then you might be able to train for another job in the same company.

hi i'm looking to change career but don't know where to start, i was a joiner but now want to better myself?

We Answered:

The best way to start is decide what you want to do and what suits you.

Try these I wish I had many years ago, I would have taken a different course in my life.

What I found is that it concentrates the mind on what you like and what you are good at, they can also suggest things you never knew existed. Some of the sites may be to advertise jobs but the best are superb.

I will have a AA soon. I want to change career goals to become a surgeon. What do I need to do? Please help.?

We Answered:

That is a huge jump. Make sure it is what you really really want, as being a surgeon is a huge commitment.
4years college
4years medical school
5-7years general surgery residency
There are applications between each of the above steps. Only the top 7% or so get into medical school out of those who applied, and only the top medical students get into surgery residencies.
are you ready for that?

If you are, don't finish your AA, work straight for a BA or BS, make sure you get those prerequisites in for medical school. See a school counselor to help you plan out your classes and to get connected with work and/or volunteer experiences in the health care field. These experiences will help solidify your "urge" to become a surgeon and prove to the admissions committee that you're passionate about it.

I'm not sure how many medical schools there are in Ohio, maybe 1 or 2? But it doesn't matter where you get your college degree as long as it's at a 4yr university. You can major in anything you want as long as you get good grades (if you get really good grades in art, major in it!) and meet the prerequisites: 1yr biology, 1 yr general chemistry, 1 yr organic chemistry, 1 yr physics.

Take MCAT after your 3rd year after meeting all the prerequisite classes. Take this, get recommendation letters, write a killer essay, and apply very early to medical school (application opens in June for acceptance into school Fall of the following year)

I have a Bachelor's in Nursing nut not licensed, want to change career but what can I use my nursing degree?

We Answered:

Would you be interested in working in nursing recruitment? Veterinary nursing? Medical school?

All these may give you credit for studies you have already done- but what would you really like to do?
Would you be able to speak to a career counselor or similar?
