Ideas For A Career Change

Claude Said:

I need some ideas for a career change...?

We Answered:

Stripper. Come round mine and I'll give you some tips. :)

Sorry...couldn't resist.

It's a hard one because the current climate is very difficult. Either pick something you've always wanted a go at, or build on your current skills. Maybe get into IT consultancy, or services design. The trick is to pick a goal and develop a strategy, the hard thing is visualising the goal.

You don''t need eyes to see, you need vision.

Sorry it's not much help, but i'd hate to give you the impression there's a quick fix answer.

Need ideas for career change!!?

We Answered:

I think you need to really sit down and think about what you like doing, what your strengths are and then find a career which matches up with your two lists.

It sounds like you are pretty early on in your career so you need to think about where you want to go and then get an entry-level job that will get you there. It won't necessarily make you the money you want straight away, but you will be happy.

What do you like or want to do? Do you want to work from your home? Do you like to work with people? Do you like the medical field? You still have to have training in whatever it is you choose and there are schools out there that train so that you can get your degree pretty quickly. I have 4 degrees, two I received in the military and two outside the military, all are medical degrees.

If you like to be in charge of things, you should look for a managerial job. Do you like retail? I have done that, but hated it. You can find a retail store for managerial jobs, but still you have to have some sort of experience and training for most of whatever you desire. I love the outdoors, so I would probably choose something like landscaping if I wasn't in the medical field or artsy as I love to draw, but I know that wouldn't pay the bills for me.

It is what you like to do and what you are looking for money wise and what hours you would like. There are the factory jobs that make good money, but you usually have to work long hours and the hours are usually starting in the evenings. You could look at a temp agency who could test your skills and place in you different areas. I have done that for part time jobs in addition to my full time job just to do something totally different.

Once a year I work for the Convention Center at a Motorcycle convention just to do something different. They have many different jobs at the convention and it has nothing to do with medical. It is fun.

Best wishes to you.

need ideas for career change-lawyer/nonprofit director?

We Answered:

College or high school superintendants/directors. Management positions in corporations that would need a legal background - (hospital administration for one). Better yet, have her take the civil service test and she could get a great paying position with the government.
