Mba Career Change

Jennie Said:

Am Ayurvedic Dr & want to change my career to MBA HR.Which institiutes are good in Disatance mode? How is the?

We Answered:

Complete two different fields . Think twice , it would be very difficult to cope up . I understand that you want to change your career , however why MBA HR ? do you have enough contacts who can reffer you for jobs ? Industry is getting changed day by day, organizations give preference to the ones who have experience in the particular domain. and being new to the industry you may need to have lot of patience to build your career in this new field ( HR) .

ICFAI , IGNOU - check with them ( distance education)

Thanks.

Need a career change! Should I get a 2nd degree in Finance, or an MBA?

We Answered:

Get an MBA with a concentration in Finance. You've got the grades, so just study and get a good GMAT score and you should be accepted. MBA programs like it when people have non-business backgrounds because it helps to "diversify" their student body. Your drafting experience should only help your application. Best wishes!

Full-time or a part-time MBA for a career change?

We Answered:

You should do part time MBA.
practical experience is a great thing.
You want only theoretical knowledge.
You can earn while you learn.
Don't quit the job.
Choose a good university for MBA.
And also attend the contact classes regularly
Best wishes

can i make a career change to a professor with an mba?

We Answered:

Most of the time a Doctorate degree is needed, however, check with your local community colleges. Many of them have openings that allow Graduate degree holders teach.

I would think someone with your qualifications could get a teaching position at a community college.

Yvonne Said:

Do I need an MBA to make this career change?

We Answered:

The MBA can be a big help. If by accounting you mean eventual CPA, the MBA may not be enough if you don't have an undergraduate accounting degree. Also an MBA does not offer specializations in a field, like an MS. The MBA is a general broad degree that prepares students for high level management positions. MBA students study accounting, finance, marketing, statistics, management, economics, strategy, policy, leadership, and similar courses. The MBA is not like an MS that concentrates in one field and prepares students for staff positions. MBA programs offer concentrations in various fields, but this amounts only to 2-3 elective courses in the second year. The MBA trains you to get into management up to the highest level. If you want a specialization, get an MS and prepare for a staff position.

Consult the Official MBA Guide. It's a comprehensive free public service with more than 2,000 MBA programs listed worldwide. It allows you to search for programs by location (US, Europe, Far East, etc.), by concentration (finance, marketing, aviation management, health management, accounting, etc.), by type of program (full-time, distance learning, part-time, etc), and by listing your own criteria and preferences to get a list of universities that satisfy your needs. You can use the Guide to contact schools of your choice, examine their data, visit their web site, and send them pre applications. You can see lists of top 40 schools ranked by starting salaries of graduates, GMAT scores, and other criteria. It's the best service available at http://officialmbaguide.org.
