And who are you to be mad they switched styles? It's their music, and if that's how they get satisfaction out of playing then more power too them. As for Green day being emo.. I don't see that. They're more observant of whats going on around them. They're more political now. Along the lines of Bruce Springstein, U2 and Rage Against the Machine..

You have to do what makes you happy. At 37 I went back to school for IT (networking). Market kind of sucks now, but I'm still happy that I made a bold move. My sister in-law was just about to get her architect's license. She left the field and is working, happily, as a barrista.

There's no right answer to the situation. You make the move and you win or lose. If you don't you stay where you are and end up asking yourself "What if.....?"

The National University of Singapore is an excellent university with an incredible biology department. I gave a talk there in 2004 and there were a number of people that were doing very good research in ecology, evolution, and conservation. Not sure exactly what you want to do in 'animal sciences', but you should not have to go abroad and spend a fortune.
