Mortgage Career Change
Danny Said:
I currently work full time but would love to change my career to Primary School teaching, I have a mortgage...?We Answered:
Do you a degree? If so you can take a PGCE part-time (2 years) or try and get on a Graduate Training Programme where you work in a school while you train to be a teacher full-time (on average takes 1 year)If you don't have a degree you can start to do a degree part-time or train to be a learning assisant and I think schools give you the traing for that.
However I would advise getting 'work experiance'? Are you 100% sure you want to be a teacher?

Help in career change....i don't want to sale mortgages anymore? We Answered:
Referrals are a good way to go.But, if you don't think that will work for you, start networking outside of your current field. Go to Business Associations, Toastmasters, any thing that will put you in front of other people & tell them what you are interested in doing. LinkedIn seems to be a good online resource.
Two years in one field isn't long enough to "pigeon-hole" you, but you may have to take a small step backwards to be able to change directions. Be willing to consider that.
You may also reach back to your school - see if the career center or alumni office can help connect you.
Best of luck!
