Radical Career Change
Bertha Said:
Is anyone on here a nutritionist? Would really like some advice.?We Answered:
There are several different paths you can go down, depending on your interests.A Dietitian will often work in Hospitals and health care, ensuring the the patients get a diet which covers all their nutritional needs, whether for an ill person, elderly, children or someone on chemotherapy. Some will be working with the caterers to ensure the food delivered to patients fulfils their requirements. They can also be involved with the feeding requirements of babies/children who are tube fed. They will help the obese as well as those with eating disorders.
Dietitians also work out the ration pack nutrients for troops!
They are more involved in the science of nutrition, rather than the delivery of delicious food! Depending on whether you are working for the NHS or in a private setting, will determine your salary.
You can train as a Home Economist, specializing in nutrition. The work is all sorts of fields, from testing recipes and diets for magazines, producing food for photographic sessions and testing foods for manufacturers. For instance, baking fat manufacturers have Home Economists to cook with fat from different batches to make sure they are consistent plus trying out new ways of using the product. Again, salary range will depend on which company you are working for or whether you are free-lance.
Once you have your degree, you can also, of course, teach. Teachers salary starts at around £28.000.
Queen Elisabeth College, London University is considered one of the best.

Whats the best qualification to gain for a career in marketing/PR/journalism?We Answered:
This is not what you want to hear but the simple best qualification is experience. I am in a similar situation and want to enter marketing, but have minimal (to none) experience. I would try to make the most of your prior work. I think computer design programs are a huge bonus in marketing as well as statistics programs (like SPSS) & website design skills. I am volunteering to do graphic/print advertisement design for not-for-profits in my community. This is a win-win. I will use the work I do in my community to start a portfolio. Hope this helps & good luck!Carla Said:
Anyone had a radical career change? We Answered:
I have done it twice and never regretted the changes.I was about 32 when I went from being a high street insurance broker to working for the corporation of Lloyd's. It was a much bigger organisation, more opportunities and a great social life. Financially to start with, it was about the same, but over the years I think I gained a lot from the change.
At 50 I changed again and went to work in the local high school, working to help those with special educational needs access the national curriculum. Less money this time but with only one child at home and the mortgage paid off it was not too much of a problem. Again no regrets and what I have lost financially I have gained in satisfaction of helping others. I learn a lot that at my age I may have missed out on especially in the subjects of science and technology. Everyday is great.

any of you ever made radical career changes? We Answered:
In the process of doing that now. Going from accounting to Dental Hygiene.Wish me luck. It has been a big change from focusing on numbers and business things to learning chemical reactions and biological lab testing. I actually enjoy this and wish I would have considered this type of thing a long time ago.

OK, I'm considering a radical career change. Based on my astrology info, would a navy career be good for me?We Answered:
You actually have a aspected trine that shows indications of the navy. Here's how it goes. You have Venus and Mars in conjunction at a trine to Neptune. Here are some interpretations for it.
Desire(Venus) for war(Mars) on the sea(Neptune)
Beautiful(Venus) warrior (Mars) on the sea (Neptune)
Money (Venus) from the Navy(Mars and Neptune)
Seduced by and attracted to(Venus) the Navy (Mars Neptune)
In Heliocentric you have other Naval inclinations.
A Yod with Pluto and Neptune at the base and Chiron at the apex.
Interpretations:
Powerful(Pluto) water (Neptune) career(Chiron)
Long term (Neptune) powerful(Pluto) career(Chiron)
Talent in (Pluto) Naval(Neptune) pursuits(Chiron)
There are some other things that I would like to mention. Neptune and Mars together is the Navy but this is not your only choice. There are many many other things that you could be doing with your natural talent.
Neptune rules creativity, longevity and anything long term. It rules ethics and the Catholic church. It rules anything that comes from the ground like plants and minerals, oil, and wine. It also rules everything that has to do with the sea. It rules all healing professions, like doctors and nurse, and serenity because it has to do with prolonging life. It also rules drugs.
So my answer is yes. You are well suited for the Navy but you are well suited to be a doctor or an artist as well. The thing here is this. The Venus Mars can me desire(Venus) for war(Mars). But it can also mean beautiful body.
I can tell from these aspects that you have always looked young for your age and you always will. And that your are probably pretty good looking. You also have higher than normal stamina and have what it takes to be a professional athlete.
It's your choice but people in the military don't think the same way as most of us. When the come back (if the come back) life is harder for them. Did you know that 25% of homeless people are Veterans? It's something to think about.
