im 24 and I want a career change as a hairdresser how do i go about it?

Go to a local hairdresser school. They usually only take about 1 year, then you need 100+ hours of cutting hair in a salon to get licensed. It varies by state.

Nicole Said:

How can I make a career change when I don't even know what I want to do?

We Answered:

Kurt, these situations, happen to many of us, unfortunately..... which of course I am sure you know that, without me saying...nevertheless...I don't think you shouldn't quit your present job...which you have not indicated that you would until you had something else in line....Life is too damn short to be miserable with what kind of job we do.....Sorry I really don't have the help, to answer your question any better....I wish you the best of luck with all future endeavors....I must say after posting this, then reading some of the answers you received, "ribeg" has a great premise for what you should do......
Good Luck... =)

I want to make a career change and become a physical therapist. How do I start?

We Answered:

The first thing to consider is do you already have a bachelor's degree. If so, you need to compare the courses you took as an undergraduate and compare them to the list of prerequisite courses that are required by the program to which you hope to apply (generally chem, physics, biology, phych, etc). Once you've complete these courses, you will most likely need to sit for the GRE, complete whatever is required by the school in observation hours (usually 50 hours volunteering in a clinic), and apply for admission.

This is certainly an over simplification, but the process does vary from school to school a bit.

I would suggest going to the Education programs section of the APTA website at: http://www.apta.org to view a list of accredited PT programs. Pick out some schools that interest you and discover what are their particular entrance requirements.

Good luck
