I think you should stick with the video game design, it's what you've always wanted to do and the point of going to school is to teach you what you need to know on the newest equipment. The music industry is really hard to get into.
As for college pricing, what is listed on the website isn't what most people pay. Throughout college I've only met one person who paid full price and his parent's are extraordinarily wealthy. Financial aid is out there. My education should have cost somewhere in the $200,000 range for 4years and I paid $20,000. How much money you are offered depends on your parents income and your academic record. Don't get yourself down because of it. You could also take your general ed classes at a community college and transfer.
