It depends on what occupation you want training in. Do some research first by visiting with those who you would like to do their type of work. I became an certified optician this way; many years ago.I would start by looking at your local area vocational tech school. This could even be a short course of about 6 weeks at your local junior college. If you're wanting a paid internship; then you may have to interview with the program's director.
Job corps (US government) is a good place to start if you're under 24 and want to learn, earn, and live near the place you will be schooled at.
