Louise Said:

Is there a way around getting a parking permit in a car free development?

We Answered:

It's you and your lifestyle that has moved the goalposts to be honest, and it's no-one's fault.
The best thing that you can do is to discuss your options with the Housing Association; they may be able to give you an exchange into a property where you will be able to have a car. If there are other people on the development flauting the rules then this is also something they need to address.

Some of these might not apply, but here's a good sampling! :)

----------------
Good questions to ask the interviewer:

Is this a new position? How long has this position existed?

How many people have held this position in the last two years?

Who would be my supervisor? To whom would I report?

Whom will I supervise?

With whom will I be working most closely?

What do you like about working for this company?

What are the current plans for expansion or cutbacks?

What kind of turnover rate does the company have?

How financially sound is this company?

What projects and assignments will I be working on?

What happened to the person that held this position before? Was he promoted or fired?

What is this company's culture? (Ex: Is it rigid and formal or relaxed and flexible?)

What are the current problems facing the company (or my department)?

What do you like the most about working for this company? The least?

What is the philosophy of the company?

What do you consider to be the company's strengths and weaknesses?

What are the company's long and short term goals?

Describe the work environment.

What attracted you (the interviewer) to this organization?

Why do you enjoy working for this company?

Describe the typical responsibilities of the position.

What are the most challenging aspects of the position?

Describe the opportunities for training and professional development.

Will I receive any formal training?

What is the company's promotional policy?

Are there opportunities for advancement within the organization?

When can I expect to hear from you?

Darlene Said:

could you comment on the following article?

We Answered:

This had to have been written by an attorney because who else could confuse you so ? My personal opinion about teachers is that the majority of them are doing their best. They have too many obstacles preventing them from giving children the education they deserve. Some issues that should be clarified are : discipline, homework, parent involvement and manners. Without the cooperation of the parents it is very difficult to be a successful teacher. All the training in the world doesn't prepare you for the many problems that arise throughout the school year. Good common sense and a firm commitment are needed from every instructor, and follow-up by the parents is essential. Until they clean up the obstacles in the classrooms, nothing will fall into place.
