Career Prospects: MS in Computer Science? We Answered:
Hi!There are quite a number of areas which might work out. You don't want to do actual software development work. Is this that you don't want to do it at all, or certainly not for a career? If you wouldn't mind doing it some then perhaps you could get a job starting doing that but meanwhile have the company start to train you towards Project Management, this could be especially good in a non-IT company.
If you really want to stay away from software development completely, look into IT infrastructure. There are many jobs in thatarea which while they are IT have absolutely nothing to do with pregramming, etc. (Trust me, thats where I am and I hate programming)
To take your skills and work in a different field (HR, Sales, etc) even in an IT industry, you would still need some extra training in those areas.
I hope this short answer helps, and let me know if you need more info.
