Career Development Examples

Leah Said:

Majoring in child development and minoring is sign language?

We Answered:

You could work as a receptionist / assistant for a child psychologist. You could work in a day care centre or an after-school care centre. You could translate speech to and from sign language, maybe see if there are any kids who would benefit from having someone to help them at school. Talk to someone in your local deaf community about this, or ask one of your professors. Volunteering is also a good idea.

Hazel Said:

What key qualifications do I need for software development?

We Answered:

You mean Java, not Javascript. I guess the qualifications would be having excessive knowledge in at least one particular programming language, understanding basic principles and systems of the programming you want to specialize in, having experience in minor projects/ pervious work, having the ability to solve syntax and logical errors etc.

The whole thing is just hanging by your experience and enthusiasm in this.
If you really take this very seriously go on and study, try, learn whatever you need to learn. Remember - Google is your friend. Good luck! :P

Adam Said:

Which is a better example of arrested development?

We Answered:

Come on over to Women's Studies and we can show you dozens of 'dying breath' cases of Arrested Development.
Good luck

Non-Technical Career for Computer Science graduate?

We Answered:

You could argue that your computer-programming skills have given you the ability to think logically and that you have a very organised thought process. You could, therefore, be an excellent event organiser (or any other organising), which require you to be very precise and prompt. You could say that you can create a fantastic computerised system for the company that would help you and your colleagues with organising conferences etc.
You could also be a holiday rep, completely different from what you've been doing. Staying within the travel trade: you could create a website where people can book holidays through you so you are basically a travel agent. Whatever profession you choose, you have very good logistical and organisational skills and whilst the job doesn't have to be IT related, you can most definitely use your IT skills in whatever you do.
