I just did HHD this year

Its the same as 1 & 2 just a little harder. If you did 1&2 you'd have an advantage going into 3&4, but I know people who just did 3&4 and they didn't struggle with the subject.
Its just learning about different diseases (Diet related diseases especially), The Aussie health care system (medicare), prenatal development, Learning about factors that affect health globally especially developing countries, AND the usual Physical, social,emotional,intellectual aspects of health.

so no it wasn't a bad descision, you'lll be fine

You've already stated what's relevant...being a blowhard does not garner respect. When you KNOW you're being listened to when you do speak, it's because everyone (including those who are in the position to boost your career) knows you've got something intelligent and relevant to add to the conversation.

I really do not know if turning into an 'alpha dog' will get you anywhere...if anything, it may backfire by forcing you to be less than genuine in your mannerisms...and folks may take you less seriously.

Is there anyone in senior management/executive that you trust? I would share your concerns with that person over lunch and ask his/her advice on what steps you should take to further your career. Folks in those positions usually are flattered that someone would come to them for advice...it's a low-level ego-stroke and s/he may have some good advice to pass along...it also lets a member of the higher-ups know that you have higher career aspirations, and may put you in the running for the next promotion.
