How are jobs in Human Resources? We Answered:
Yes!Firstly, to be a success in this field, you must be a person who likes people!
Next, once you get into it, like any other job you have to be thorough at work, hard-working, enthusiastic, etc.
Depending on the size of the company, (And your credentials) , you can expect to be a HR Manager in about 10 years.
How can you compare this with other standard profiles? Can you compare Apples with Oranges?? Each is good in its own right!
HR is challenging, exciting, and stimulating......depending on your inputs and efforts that YOU put into your work!

calling all teachers k-8 : i want to ask you your opinion about if there was a website for student prizes? We Answered:
This sounds like a pretty cool idea. In fact, if you could get major sponsors on board, it could really take off ( like gift cards to Best Buy, Amazon, Foot Locker, etc.). Anyway, I'll give you my input. I teach English and Math in a middle school.1. Yes
2. I do Friday raffles. If the class does well during the week, I'll have a raffle on Fridays. On that day, for every assignment completed, I'll give the student a raffle ticket. At the end of the class we have a drawing.
3. I would use it if it was done well and wasn't too labor intensive. It should be something I can pop in and out of in ten minutes a day. Any more would start to become a pain.
4. I purchase it out of my own expense.
5. I would guess around a couple hundred bucks a year total for all classes.
6. I would want a points based system in which I would have a master account, and students would have their own account. From my account, I could give points based on classroom behavior and achievement.
7. My weekly prizes are basically candy, chips, and soda- not great for their diets, but it's motivational. Again, things like gift cards to various stores, video games, iTunes- things of that nature would be great for middle school students (12-14 years old).
8. Various teacher websites, Barnes and Nobles, Amazon, and anywhere other teachers mention to me.
9. Currently, our school district has something more or less like that. It lists resources, classes, seminars at the local level through which we can attend.
Good luck- sounds like an interesting idea!

Does my mom really need a Bachelor's Degree to work autistic children as a career? We Answered:
The reason most companies specify a certain degree is because that is how most people start getting their experience. It also ensures the person is up to date on the newest techniques, laws and other issues for working in a particular field. I am actually amazed your mother was allowed to work as a social worker for so long without having to obtain a college degree...that is something that simply would never happen now. While your mother seems to have extensive expereience that would make her a strong candidate, you don't mention if she has any direct expereince in working with autistic children. This is a field that requires a strong working knowledge of childhood development in communication, socialization and cognative areas. She would also need a basic understanding of all the major schools of theraputic thought in the field...TEACH, floor time, behavioral intervention..to help families develop programs and skills to be used in the home. Finally, she would need a strong understanding of IEP's, state programs, grant applications and the testing and treatment options available. A lot of this is not something she would learn if not exsposed to it directly...college will give her a lot of this information in a realtively short amount of time, The only thing I can suggest is for your mother to contact potential employers and see how they react to her expereice vs. lack of degree. She may find one willing to hire her and help her get the needed certification. Of course, she will , in all likelihood, get less that a person with the required degree when it comes to salary, but would be a way to get her foot in the door (so to speak).Raymond Said:
Resources on the web for computer programming careers? We Answered:

what would be the correct approach to this situation? We Answered:
Because I am not familiar with either job's job-description, duties, etc, I can't specifically give answers....BUT..what I would do...I would talk about what you CAN do and avoid..at all costs...what you cannot do (unless of course you are asked the dreaded "what are your weaknesses", but then, you still avoid specific job-related instances).
You take what you know and your previous experience and apply it to the position they are advertising for (and how it is the same, etc...not how it is different!).

Calling all teachers k-8 : i want to ask you your opinion about if there was a website for student prizes? We Answered:
1) do you have a prize system in the classroom? Not in all classes, only with certain ones, usually the young ones that need more motivation. ( I teach English to various age groups)
2) what format/technique do you use?
I use laminated coupons that have a monetary award on it that are redeemable for snacks in the school Canteen.
3) would you like an online alternative to your current in class prize format?
Sure, always open for new ideas.
4) what method do you use to get your prizes now?
The "prizes" are snack items that children love and already made available through the Canteen. The coupons are accepted at face value by whomever redeems them and then the Canteen is reimbursed when they bring back the coupons.
5) how much do you spend monthly/annually for prizes per class?
Again, not all classes participate, but the average is no more than a couple dollars a week, tops. Less than $100 per year.
6) what type of resources and sevices would you like to see on a website geared specifically for teachers?
Truly hadn't given it much thought. I do use certain websites that teach phonics, grammar, spelling, etc., and it seems to work.
7) what type of prizes are approproate for children of your grade level( pls indicate grade)?
The age group for which these "prizes" go to are 9 - 12 years of age. There might be the odd 7 or 8 year old, if they are at the same level of ability. Besides food items that cost me next to nothing, small trinkets such as pencils, stickers, or pogs might work.
8) what websites, bookstores etc. do you currently use for resources and career development?
I don't use bookstore websites, although Amazon and Barnes & Noble, to name a couple are fine. The sites for resources I use are Nick Jr., Kidz Club, and a couple others that are Korean specific.
9) would you like to see a community website designed for teachers k-8 for the purpose of sharing resources and ideas with other teachers?
Again, sure, can always use new ideas.
Good luck.
