maybe, but are the examples in your descriptions not just well educated creative ways of inflating the effects, to justify your standpoint......(slavery is over, no handouts)

my personal belief is the people that have the most privelage, whether earned or not, will do just fine. life isn't always fair.

and the people that milk the advantages of things not earned, will ultimitly live a life not to be envied anyhow. my point being, yes it is ridiculous, but if it makes some to a majority of the population happy let em have it. win some, lose some.

ps. i enjoyed reading your question. i thought it was very insightful and well written, even though i don't agree with it 100%
