how to switch from software development to testing? We Answered:
Well Microsft is ALWAYS looking for Testers for their products. I know 2 people who get a hold of Windows OS LONG before you hear about it being put out into the market. You contact microsoft via Phone for this. I believe they are a "microsoft partner"- He will give me WIndows 7 and take my feedback and submit that with suggestions as well. This in part how they get their ideas for final products. I know there are different levels and sub-types of what Im mentioning. YOU and I know how many Language options there are-MANY! You have to pick whats right for you and the Future and present market. Here are Some Microsoft Contacts to help guide you.Developers

need to move from development to testing? We Answered:
Your previous 5 years in development are definitely an asset. I would use that to your advantage when interviewing. A developer has better knowledge of how the code is written, so you will know how to test in a way to determine these flaws. If you're applying at smaller companies, you can also say that if the situation needs, you can jump in and do some coding to help out. Smaller companies love someone who has flexibility.Having said all that, it wouldn't hurt if you could take a course in testing to learn the formal methods, philosophies, etc. Make sure your cover letter notes that you haven't done formal testing in the background - and explain why you still think you're good for the job - attention to detail, process oriented, etc.

Why did you choose "testing" as your career instead of "development" ?We Answered:
all the jobs have their own importance... no job is big or small...selection of jobs depends on your qualification, experience and aptitude...
work is worship... if you stop working on your job you will have to retire... you should always have to have updated knowledge...
