Virgil Said:

Should I get a B.S. in psychology even though I don't want to become a psychologist?

We Answered:

Absolutely. I find it admiriable that you want to pick a major based on interest and what intrigues you. Don't ever sell out for something you don't care about. Even if you don't want psychology as your main course of study, you should at least make it your minor!

I am a psychology major with no intention of becoming a counselor or psychologist. But, there are many different ways you can go. You could later go on to more schooling to become a nurse, an occupational therapist, a teacher, physical therapist, etc. Maybe you are more interested in the science or educational aspect of psych. If you want to be something in the health field, be a psych major, but also take many of the general science courses: A&P I and II (a biggie), Chemistry, Biology, etc. Or if you are more into education, take education courses along with your psych courses.
