Careers In Community Development

Audrey Said:

Are my chances of going to a 4 year college over?

We Answered:

good luck to that, you better get your grades much higher and you better hope that your high school grades and extra curricular activities help! UC schools are beyond competitive, even if they are the sucky party school ones. your grades are looked down upon. sorry, but the truth hurts. your work ethic isn't near as a student in a UC school or one who wants to get into one.

Joyce Said:

do you have to be in the military for the military careers on USAjobs?

We Answered:

no because even spouses are supposed to go there to get jobs on base. even for the commissary

Career move - working in development?

We Answered:

You can volunteer for an organization that has a mission which fits with your beliefs and interests. Non-profits are always looking for volunteers to serve on committees and to share their expertise. First, find an organization that you'd like to assist. Next, contact the executive director or development director at the organization to let them know you are interested in becoming a volunteer. Let them know your areas of interest and the expertise you bring based on your prior experience managing a family business. Then you work together to figure out the best way you can help the organization.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
