This usually falls to University presidents and board of regents. If you wanting to prep for such a degree my suggestion would be PR as a degree choice.

Is getting your masters in the non-profit field worth it?

The best degree is the one you are interested in most because, in essence, you are going to be married to it while you are studying for your Master's. You are going to be eating, drinking and sleeping it. It's going to be your life. Most any field of study for a Master's is worth it to work in senior management at nonprofits. So pick something that makes you excited and interested about studying.

I got my Master's a few years ago, and while it was incredibly stressful, as I was still working full time for most of it, I am very, very glad I did it.

Some MBA programs offer non-profit management as a speciality concentration.
