Careers In Organizational Development
Jamie Said:
What sort of careers can you pursue with a masters in organizational communications.?We Answered:
First, take up typing. Or don't get on here after a few drinks. Check your question and description to see what I mean.Joshua Said:
Can you help me out with my resume? We Answered:
One brief thing that I would suggest would be to be more explicit in your analysis back ground. You talk about that you used analysis and the programs that you used but what kind of anlysis was it. Was just using correlations or was it a long involved process using advanced techniques? Try to be as specific as you can because then people may find you to be a little bit more credible, especially now that the market is a little bit softer. Another suggestion is to cater your resume to your specific audience. Everytime that you submit a resume it should be different depending on the job that your applying for. Good Luck!Javier Said:
What kind of job and level would be suitable for me?We Answered:
To be happy in life regardless of what your skills are you have to do something that you enjoy. I'm sure you probably have talents that you are not aware of because you have not yet had a chance to expose them. Since you went to school for communication I would guess maybe you should do something along that field. I don't know why you picked that major... If it is because you enjoyed it then good... If it is because you just figured you could make money doing something in that field then bad. I'm 27 with no college education so I'm not one to give career advice. I have a passion for cars so that's what I do I'm a car salesman. I started selling fords, Nissan's and now I work for the #3 Lexus dealer in the states and Make six figures a year. I did not know that you could earn that much selling cars I just enjoyed cars and my enthusiasm about the product was contagious and I know cars inside and out and I'm good with people. SO I guess I was just lucky. What I'm really trying to convey to you is to do something that you enjoy, be happy doing it and the money will come later with other opportunities. See yourself being successful, FEEL yourself being successful and you will be.Priscilla Said:
Are you discouraged in your job search? I am and would like advice about my career path?We Answered:
After reading your posting, I got to the end where you mention being a consultant, trainer or career development coach...and it really hit me.Those are the exact things that you should be doing!
Right now people are struggling. Jobs are scarce, as you know. For those who can, they hang on and hope things will get better...for others, they do what they can to take courses to give themselves a leg up and a way out of unemployment or jobs that are lacking.
You really need to take your education - which is the biggest asset you have to work with, and use it. Apply at any of the colleges or adult training centers near you. Those two degrees are more than many teachers have these days - and with so many people looking to boost their employability, you could be in the perfect position to walk into a teaching job.
Get out there! Make it happen! ;)

What are the difference between these three? We Answered:
They overlap so much that they are virtually the same. I say there is no difference in the 3..Earl Said:
Interviewing to teach in College Business Dept., but is a MBA degree in Mgt/OD enough without experience? We Answered:
Most colleges and universities require the Ph.D. but not all. Many hire people with masters degree because that's all they can get, but those are typically lower quality schools. They also don't pay as well. Your work experience can be in your favor.Concentrate on emphasizing your work and teaching experience, and ask where you can be of most help to the school, rather than offer to fill specific courses. They just may have a place for you.
Many community colleges hire teachers with masters degrees because they emphaize teaching and don't require the research that universities want from people with doctorates. Best of luck.
