A sustainable effort of the management consists of a long-term and integrated systems approach to developing and achieving a healthy community by balanced environmental, economic, social, and cultural issues.

what is the future for sustainable development academically?

We Answered:

I suppose it depends what you do with your knowledge of biology. anything with in the science of nature will be beneficial to educate people about sustainable living. possibly look into organic farming techniques, study the habitats of species who's ranges are shifting due to changing temperatures around the globe, increase awareness of endangered species, or even study the effects of warmer temperatures on the human biological system. If i were smart, i would take bio, but I'm not. I think i will most likely end up a "green-landscaper" or a "green-contractor"

What is the best minor for an architecture major?

We Answered:

I would suggest looking at what you are interested in possibly doing in your career to see what would be appropriate. If you were applying for a job tomorrow, what would that firm look for in an applicant? That is something that you should ask and it could help you with this decision.

Business is always good, because it is comprised on principals that would be good for understanding how business function according to certain internal and external variables. It's general enough to be applied to a wide variety of disciplines and is therefore attractive. Sustainability is trendy these days, especially in Architecture (think LEED certified); however, it is very specific and focused so there may be a time when that will work against you. Do you have the ability to double minor? if so do both business and sustainability. I know that Architecture is pretty tough so having a double major would be very difficult.

You could always do a bachelor's degree in architecture, with a minor in sustainability or sustainable urban dev. and then get an MBA for a graduate degree.
