Not sure how it works in Canada, but two traditional gateways to security work in the US include the military (especially Military Police and also Intelligence Services) and also police cadet school. Likely more hands-on than your current studies, these two work experiences might fill up the 2 years you mention with experience and possibly recommendations that might help you with admittance to graduate school. My daughter did a dual undergrad degree in Economics and Political Science. But she is now in graduate school, in the faculty of engineering taking a dual masters in Safety and transportation management.

And she is teaching a sophomore undergraduate engineering course in safety management. She plans to get her doctorate in engineering too. The thing is that while she eill not actually do any actual engineering work, unless she becomes a professor, she will be the boss of a team of engineers.


The point is that you can go to a grad school and take a technology management program at an engineering faculty and have the best of both worlds. Because unless someone manages the engineers, their work tends to be misdirected and aimless. And costs more while producing less.

Mind you, in my daughter's case, she was also accepted by the graduate engineering schools at Georgia Tech and UNLV.

Yoga teacher. Can teach yoga on a cruise ship or resorts, can even do animal yoga. Yoga studios are everywhere and you could teach your way around the world if you wanted to. Yoga is becoming more popular in medical centers so you could earn a yoga therapy certification and work with children and adults in a medical setting. Takes dedication to earn your instructor's certification, but if you keep focused on where it will take you, you can do it. Don't lose your thought about the world being your oyster, too many of us forget that truth for a suit and tie, selling out for "security". Pursue your spiritual path and you can't go wrong.

I changed my major 3 times. What I found was that the first 2 years of humanities, math, etc. were pretty much all the same curriculum. I'd finish your associates degree (and get the degree!!) and when you find the inspiration you're seeking, then go get your BA. Get the AA though. If you find yourself going to another state, they'll likely force you to take all those classes again unless you have the AA in hand.
