I'm an obstetrical nurse so I work in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum and newborn nursery. It is a very rewarding job that I enjoy doing, however as with most nursing jobs, it is often very demanding and hard work. I feel like my pay is pretty decent but I have a 4 year BSN degree and am in the Air Force. I, like you, had always been interested in children and had worked in child care during high school and college. I had wanted to be a pediatrician, but it is an even more demanding job, especially when you have to do 8 years of higher education and then 3 years of residency. I am glad I chose nursing.
