Nursing Career Development

Roland Said:

What kind of career do you think I should consider going into?!?

We Answered:

It sounds like you would be a great teacher! In the end it is important to do what makes you happy because that is what you will be best at and the children will enjoy you more if you do. So do not worry about copying your friend. That is not what is important. think 20 years down the line. Will it matter if you were viewed as a copy cat? Most likely you will regret not doing what you really wanted and if you can at that point you will end up going back to school and majoring in elementary education.

Which career should I choose?

We Answered:

If you posess a degree - or any alternative qualification - then you'll already be in front of of the crowd when it comes to searching for jobs. My buddy has a degree and he wasn't certain what direction to go with it, but he stumbled upon some great guidance on the site in the resource box below which aided him to decide that he wanted to be a lab assistant. There is loads of guidance on the site regarding alternative jobs.

Need to know what career would pay more ...?

We Answered:

Pharmacist ot Psychologist are your best bet given the choices. Everyone teachers are among the most underpaid, nurses get a decent hourly wage but the hours are terrible and it's still peanuts considering the work you have to do. As a pharmacist you can make six figures easy but it requires a doctorate in pharm so you're looking at 4 years of undergrad and 3-4 of pharm school. As a psychologist in the private sector you can also do extremely well, but much better if you get a phd in psychology which is 8-10 years of school depending on if you want to be a psychologist or psychiatrist. If you really want to pull in the big money you're going to have to go back to school, but, if you're not good in math or science or you may want to consider some career alternatives Pharmacy is all chemistry, psychology is all neuro clinical and forensic science, and nursing is all biology and anatomy. Pretty much anyone can be an elementary school teacher but then you're looking down the barrel of 40 thousand dollars a year tops.

What career path should i choose?

We Answered:

If you truly are interested in the medical field, the site below has a list of available occupations and a "tree" indicating the "branch" of education needed for each path, e.g. high school, certificate, college diploma, university degree.

Glenn Said:

I need help choosing my career. What path should I take...?

We Answered:

You should be able to take some sort of test through your school counselor that will give you an idea about what would be an interesting career for you. Nursing is a secure field and you can make good money but with your smarts I would go further and be a dr if that is the field you want to head into. Accounting is also a very good career but more for someone who doesn't want to work with people. Engineering is awsome. Other good careers to consider are law and pharmacist. Set your sites high and go for it! Time passes quickly and sounds like you can really accomplish something big. Good luck!

Care jobs involving the elderly?

We Answered:

You could seek employment as a care assistant then do training for NVQ while you work.
Nurse training would involve a university course.
