What would prevent an educator from not seeking continued professional growth?

We Answered:

If an educator is not seeking continued professional growth then that must be a personal decision they have made. In my opinion if they are not seeking continued professional growth, then they are in the wrong field. Alot of times it is just not the teachers fault that they have low studednt achievement!! This could be an either/or situation. It could be either the teacher is really not putting their all into teaching or the student refuses to learn. So I feel that both the students and teachers are at fault. Who can really say. Do you understand?? I hope this helps you.

Are my feelings normal or should I stop being a teacher?

We Answered:

First year is unbelievably overwhelming for all of us. You went into teaching for a reason. You need to give yourself a chance to succeed if you went into it for a GOOD reason (not because you couldn't think of anything else you might like to do). Maybe 2nd grade is not the right fit. Maybe older kids would be better - there's a big difference between 2nd and 5th graders. Maybe you're really not cut out for teaching. If you really want to be a teacher, though, you owe it to yourself to give it a chance and see if it gets better.

Research resources for childcare workers?

We Answered:

Have a look at www.melbourneschild.com.au - not sure if this is the type of stuff you are after...you can get a hard copy of this at some kids stores, dr's, community centres, childcare centres...also http://www.education.vic.gov.au/about/ne… will have info about P.D's as well as some other stuff you might be able to use. Good luck
