I know exactly how you feel. I wanted to be a dental hygienist for several years and decided to go for it after I graduated high school. I got an associate of science degree from a community college to get my core classes and started on my bachelor of science in dental hygiene. I got about half way through the program and started hating going just like you, but I knew how much time I had put in to it so I stuck with it hoping that I would change my mind and I would love it. I just graduated in May, and I really wish that I would have cut my losses then and pursued something else. If you aren't happy doing it now, chances are your going to only hate it more with time. Many of my classmates are extremely happy with what they are doing, and I wish that I was too. I also want to go back and do something in social sciences. I chose dental hygiene because it pays a lot, but I know now that I should have chose something else that didn't pay as much but I wouldn't mind getting up and going to work.
