Well, I don't know these schools in particular, but I'm in a similar situation. Since this is a short-term thing, maybe you could just find a short-term solution. When I get lonely during the day studying, I video chat with my old friends on 6rounds (http://www.6rounds.com). It's a bit less lonely.Don't regret the choices you've made. Try to make the best of it -- I'm sure there are advantages and disadvantages for both schools. Can you get a part-time job or something? You could make new friends there.
