Walter Said:What are the chances that I'll get into BYU Provo?
We Answered:With all that, there's no way they'd reject you. Your community service is already far above the threshold they're looking for.
If you're doing the editing minor, try to take ELANG 223 your first semester, or your second. (Not before you do first-year writing though. Do it before or concurrently.) The Editing minor is essentially a chain of classes that are prerequisites to each other. 223 is the first on the chain. ELANG 322 and 325 are next. If you cruise through the minor and have spare time before graduating, you will be able to more easily compete for the coveted internships--like the one at the Ensign.
Don Said:Vassar Wellesley, liberal arts schools?
We Answered:Your SAT score is incongruously low. It may keep you out of elite liberal arts colleges.
If you care about such things, Vassar and Wellesley are know for being among the most liberal, bigoted and least intellectualy diverse colleges in the USA. They both get a "Red Light" (ie Do Not Attend) from the book "Choosing the Right College".
University of the South
New Saint Andrew's College
St John's College
College of the Ozarks
Never heard of them? They are smaller, intellectually intense, liberal arts colleges.
Beatrice Said:Would getting three B's over my High School career be a huge disadvantage on my getting into a good college?
We Answered:If you do as you say, then yes, you will have a very good shot.
If you are not from California, then you shouldn't get any more B's at all to stay competitive. If you are from Cali, then you can afford only like a couple more B's to get into a good UC. Yes getting into college is becoming ridiculously difficult. Last year alone there was a record umber of applicants and a all time low in admission rates a more universities.
Michael Said:Getting into good schools?
