Roberto Said:
What are some of the BEST career and info services for pilots? We Answered:
There are lots of "good" ones, but I use that term advisedly. In 24 years of profesional flying I've subscribed to most of them at one time or another and applied to dozens (if not hundreds) of jobs, and you know what? Not a single one has ever given me a decent lead that resulted in an interview. Out of nine flying jobs -- 2 instructing, 4 Part 135, 1 Part 121 and 2 Part 91 corporate -- 7 came to me as a result of knowing someone either directly or indirectly thru someone else and 2 came as a result of being in the right place at the right time with the right quals. I can't say that's how it works for most people, but my experience is that money spent on the career sites has been wasted. If you want to make money in aviation, start a career site!
