Career In Financial Services

Christine Said:

Being gay affect my career? Financial Services?

We Answered:

What do you do, wear a sign around your neck? What your sexual preferences are are strictly your business unless you plan to hit on the boss! Just don't mix your private life with your business life. I worked with people who hadn't had sex in a long, long time. They were still good workers. Of course, they were priests and nuns and nobody asked them if they were getting much or who they were getting it with. They asked them if they could teach school and that was it.

Work is not play. Sex is play and for after work unless you are going to be a towel boy at a whorehouse in which case, your sexual identification is less important than the ability of your stomach to hold it in at some of the things you might see.

Best of luck to you. Remember, at work you are not straight or gay. You are the best damn worker you can be and that is what they are paying for, not a tour of your inner life.

Is moving to Thomson-Reuters a good career move?

We Answered:

It's a temp job. If you're leaving FT, it's a risk. If it's a step up for you then go for it.
