Out placement career service?

We Answered:

Evaluating a career can be a true trial, and you really want to be sure that you take the correct choice because your career can affect so many facets of your life. A pal of mine for the last month had a change of career and he unearthed lots of guidance from the website in the box below prior to making his choice.

Career Services International?

We Answered:

Forget it. Especially that they are in Florida I would trust them even less. Here is what I found about them.

Customer Complaint Data
The company's size, volume of business and number of transactions may have a bearing on the number of complaints received by the BBB. The complaints filed against a company may not be as important as the type of complaints, and how the company has handled them. The BBB generally does not pass judgement on the validity of complaints filed.

Number of complaints processed by the BBB since the firm's BBB file was opened in March 2005: 8

Number of complaints processed by the BBB in the last 12 months: 4

Complaints Concerned:
Selling Practices (1 complaints)
1 Company made every reasonable effort to resolve

Service Issues (2 complaints)

Credit or Billing Disputes (1 complaints)
1 Company made every reasonable effort to resolve

Refund Practices (3 complaints)

2 Company made every reasonable effort to resolve

Contract Disputes (1 complaints)

Way too many complaints. Stay away from these types of businesses. You would be better off sending your resume randomly to insurance companies to the attention of the Human Resource Department.

How do you start a career when you have an advanced degree?

We Answered:

Do NOT take this the wrong way, but if what you are doing now is not working for you, then you might need to retool your position in the way you seek for your career.
In all the bad luck you having which can be due to many different causes. Don't let others critique your resume. YOU do it. What positions are you applying for? you going for middle management, upper management? What I say next is only to help you understand the market.
In your field and area, it would seem there are not alot of oppurtunites open for you. Tone down the job you are seeking. Maybe try to get on a lower floor. My old saying is you must start somewhere. I have 3 degrees and I have taken bottom floor jobs just to get into a company so I would be there when something bigger opened up. Then my work performance in a couple of those positions created positions for me. I have started bottom floor in companies and within 6 months made upper management because of my drive for excellence and my thirst for knowledge of every working part of that company.
Most companies anymore ONLY want to upscale from within. I have a freind that was top grad and carries a masters in business. He still hasn't a job because he only goes for upper management. I started for the company he tried and thats the one in 6 months time I became upper management and only have a ba in business and cs degree.

Resume. NEVER EVER use a generalized resume. Taylor each survey for the company you are trying to get a position with. research that company online or even by going there and getting some pamplets on what that company is and there mission. Use that info to taylor your resume for them. In your comment area, mention you really want to get in to "whatever their company does" If their mission statement says they want to dominate the telecommunications field, then say that in your comment. how You want to help them and be a part of something that has the same values that you try to live your life by.
Just stuff like that will slow down those rejection letters.
Moving. It is something you might want to think about. Upper level jobs in most big companies will give moving allowances. But the first one will be out of your pocket in most cases. If you think a company would want you and the price is right, get a loan and make that move! get that career going and let the company take care of you from their.
My wife works for the government, when she got her job, she lived in LA, the only position they had was in Illinois. She borrowed the money to make that move and was not sorry. she makes 105 thousand a year now and we have been sent overseas twice on the governments buck!

So good luck!

Saint Joseph's Univesity?

We Answered:

These are all very basic facts that you can get from their website, www.sju.edu. In particular, look at http://www.sju.edu/about/facts.html for some of the facts. A few of these things you could also find on www.collegeboard.com, such as the average admissions statistics (you won't find "requirements" anywhere, as it doesn't work that way. You probably won't find out about waitlist information either, as that is not usually known from one year to the next, and most schools don't want to give out information about it. Also, you won't find out much about financial aid, since those things are not decided until after you have been accepted. What they might be able to tell you are things like how many of their students are "full pay" (don't get any financial aid) and what their discount rate is (that is the amount of financial aid that they pay out across the board - so that if they have a 20% discount rate, it means that they will subsidize 20% of their tuition costs, and collect 80% of the tuition from students. Of course, that includes some who get full scholarships, and some who get nothing, but it can be useful to help compare schools to one another in terms of how much aid they are willing to give out).

Best massage therapy schools in New Jersey?

We Answered:

There isn't any best massage school really anywhere- it is more about what is best for you as you have different needs and learning styles.

Most schools do not have full time classes for the most part because people are usually working but there may be a few out there.

Just go to all of the local schools and find out about them. Talk to teachers, students, graduates. If they have a student clinic - go and get a few massages and see what school you like best.

You may or may not need an accredited school or need to take the national certification exam. There is a new exam that is being accepted by many states offered by the Federation of State Massage Boards although NJ is yet to accept it but hopefully will soon. It is a much better test and process.

I am wanting to find a job but am not sure what types of jobs I am qualified for with my Bachelor's Degree?

We Answered:

Try marketing, sales, criminal justice, and government jobs. Or, if possible/interested get a teaching certificate, and teach, or better yet... consider law school (a good general background is appreciated there). Law school is expensive, so do a lot of research before you go this direction, in order to understand what financial aid options are available to you, and all of the requirements to get in, stay in, do well, pass the bar exam, and get a good job upon graduation.

Good luck!
