Career Planning Test
Dale Said:
Can I test positive from second hand smoke? We Answered:
Most drug tests are not done by hair follicle. To expensive and even though hair goes back about 3 months blonds and Blacks tend to have false positives. No shampoo helps with hair tests.
Urine is most used, blood is best.
Anyway the answer is yes. For cannabis a decent amount of second hand smoke can trigger a positive urine test for up to a month after exposure. The second hand smoke is cumulative, if you continuously and regularly are exposed it builds up to a level that shows positives on the test.
Back in the late 80's I was assigned to 3 days of Grateful Dead concerts. Two weeks after on a random test I showed positive for cannabis. All I did was breath normally.
