Brandy Said:

What's the process of becoming a real estate agent?

We Answered:

Pay $350 to attend a "licensing" school in your town.

Pay $125 to take the state licensing test.

You are handed your license when you pass.

You interview at several local offices. They will all offer to hire you. Which is your first warning that something is wrong. In a bad economy, why would everyone be hiring.

They will all hire you because they don't have to pay you. If you don't sell, you don't earn.

But it is the most fun job in the world and you will love every minute. You might start as a summer job and work it for 30 years.

assessing my career?

We Answered:

I would wait for your Masters -- 44K isn't bad (unless you are in NY, or LA or something) while you are in school.

You have great experience. The current title doesn't matter as much as your experience, and your ability to sell them.

It is likely that you will need to switch jobs once you get your degree. Most businesses won't just up your pay because you have a degree to do the same thing they paid you before you got the degree.

Do I have a chance of being admitted to Georgetown, Boston College, Columbia etc.?

We Answered:

If your SATs are a bit low, consider applying to the best colleges that are SAT optional like Holy Cross, Bowdoin, Middlebury. The only downside to Middlebury and Bowdoin is that they are in cold remote snowy rural areas so kind of isolated and kids get cabin fever.
