Need Help with this Business Letter for soliciting funds/ (Please provide constructive Crit.)?

We Answered:

First of all, proofreading is a definite requirement. Double space when ending a sentence and starting another.

The full address of the corporation should follow the name of the corporation. The person in the corporation to whom you are sending this letter should then follow the address. If name is not known then you could use 'To Whom It May Concern;. Although, if I were soliciting donations, I would do some research and know to whom I should address the letter. After the greeting, the person writing/sending letter should introduce himself/herself and the position he/she holds in the company/organization.

As I said before, proofread..paragraph 4, does it really make proper sense? 'donation for' used twice, etc.

Most of the last paragraph should be included with the second paragraph.

Thank you for your consideration...should also include what you want them to consider; such as; Thank you for your consideration in donating to assist in this needed and worthy cause. The thank you should be the last statement of the letter.

I see no punctuation after the closing, 'Respectively,'. I
believe it should actually be 'Respectfully,'.
Printed signature should be followed by handwritten signature. Be sure the MAED is understood by the reader. Then I would end with; TEOC, Founder and Director

Hope this helps. I believe I have these guidelines correct. If this is a letter that is truly being sent out or you are considering writing this type of letter, please get a business-letter writing guide book. I'm sure your public library would have one you can borrow.

Is this the future of dream act Universities encouraging students to receive welfare benefits?

We Answered:

this article does not say the university is telling dream act beneficiaries to apply for food stamps, it just says students. the article says nothing about illegal, undocumented, or dream act students.

nice try, but i can read.
Little one still has much to learn. Now a Dream act student applies at a University and what will they also get, food stamps information financial aid page and Dream Act student will also be having to choose between buying groceries or a $125 textbook is a tough decision... This stands out as anyone who signs up for college is also encouraged to sign up for food stamps, including illegals, dream act students who will have no income, from having no job.Of course, they will apply for food stamps..This pretty much straight to the point

Do I have a chance getting into these schools?

We Answered:

Colleges aren't actually that hard to get into. Unless your going for the huge ones (Cornell would be harder), the hard part is paying for it (unless your parents are loaded).
I graduated last year with about the same type of things as you have going for you. You should get into most of those schools.
And suggestion about the gpa, don't take hard classes senior year. No one gives a s**t about ap classes in college. trust me. chances are you're gonna have to take the same classes for prerequisites and stuff anyway. Plus easy classes, better grades, better gpa. Colleges look at gpa.

What are some good liberal arts schools?

We Answered:

Saint Louis Univesity, University of Chicago, and Wake Forest are the main coming to mind. SLU isn't bad to get into, but UC and Wake are a bit harder. I would suggest studying really hard for the ACT and taking it many times.
