I would tell the admissions department at Claremont Mckenna exactly what you said here (i.e. you went out of state, were homesick, and needed to drop the class ).

Your second semester was solid, so I don't see why it would be a major sticking point for them.

Rip off for sure. There are jobs all over the USA for people who are willing to work, without paying one dime for any 'services'.

There are also easy ways to set up your own corporation and pay tiny amounts fo taxes just like Warren Buffet, if you take the time to learn how.

People just need to know what they want, and be prepared to put in the effort to get it.

I have been astounded in the past 9 years since I came back to the USA at the number of people I have offered a totally good job work at home computer job to, for a name brand company, who NEVER do the work, and will indeed find any excuse to NOT work--but have NO trouble at all complaining about how they wish they had more money, and running up their credits cards and then declaring bankruptcy to try to run away from their responsibilities.

Anyway, off the soapbox. Just to conclude-if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! Steer clear!!

If the mail was unsolicited, it's almost surely a scam. Often the way it works is that some of the transactions you're asked to do involve wiring money to someone, to "evaluate" the service of maybe Western Union. The check they sent you will turn out to be bogus, and you'll be out whatever you wired since you'll have to pay your bank back for the check of theirs you cashed.
