That is a sad story. A vet home from the Iraq was killed in a random drive by shooting.

What is the best way to work as a paramedic in New Zealand and Australia?

We Answered:

First you should work out where you want to live and then ask that states Ambulance Service how qualified people from overseas can apply for a position. Like other people have already mentioned the biggest challenge you will have is trying to get a visa to enter Australia or New Zealand.

Hi, I need help with a psychology question about women and emotions ect, did I do ok?

We Answered:

No, you did dreadfully.

I'm curious to hear what you have to say about my picture.

Edit: "sad, unloved, lost, uncaring, can't bare kids or cook and knit"

LOL, really? I'm not sad, my husband loves me very much, I know exactly where I am, I care about a lot of things, I prefer children clothed, and I'm an excellent cook.

See? Dreadful.

Internship for recent U.S. college grad?

We Answered:

You've probably got several options. You could contact the Universities & Polytechnics in NZ that offer similar courses to yours & ask them if they know of any potential internships that might be suitable (they place their own students so they should have contacts). You mentioned Queenstown, so Otago Polytechnic would be the closest - although I don't think they're particularly known for tourism / recreation. Try searching in the main centers - Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington & Dunedin. You're best to search for the big institutions, the ones calling themselves Universities, Polytechs or Unitechs (there's a whole bunch of smaller commercial schools that probably wont help much). Check with your own teachers to see if they have contacts with their Kiwi counterparts.

The Department of Conservation is another option. They do a lot of interesting work & are heavily involved in tourism / recreation - although this would be a lot of outdoors work (this would seem to be a good fit with your future plans though). I've definitely heard of foreign students working for them for short periods though.

Another option is to check what US companies work in NZ, such as hotel chains. You could then approach them in the US to see if they could help you arrange something in NZ.

There is always a lot of seasonal work related to tourism / recreation in NZ. You might want to check out the Lonely Planet Thorn Tree forums - it would be a good place to find out about employment in NZ from other travelers.

The visa you'll need to work in NZ would be a working holiday one - which is easy enough to get for US citizens.

I hope this helps! Good luck.
