Careers Customer Service

Maureen Said:

Why is it so difficult to change careers in sales & customer service to careers that DO NOT have these factors?

We Answered:

You may be finding difficulty because all of your experience is in those areas and so your more obvious skill set fits that type of work rather than something else.

To break the cycle you'll need to first looking into the types of jobs you would be interested in doing and then you need to honestly examine your skills and your qualifications. You may need another degree or certificate to do some of the jobs you're interested in. At that point you'll need to figure out if you can afford to go out there and get what you need so that you can pursue others areas.

If you really want out of the sales/customer service area then you certainly can do it but not necessarily just by looking for another job. You have to be sure you fit what other types of employers are looking for.

On the bright side, having any job at all these days can not be seen as a curse!

Byron Said:

Careers with little to no customer service?

We Answered:

Hi!

There are lots of careers out there that require a minimal or even no customer service at all.
For example, if you want to get into the field of research and development you will only need to work on your own and report to your seniors.
Other career options if you are not scientifically inclined are editing, proof reading, copy-writing.
In every industry if you look closely there are more people working behind the scenes with not much interaction with customers. You need to look into how little customer interaction you would like and then decide which industry suits you best.
The options are vast and numerous so don't worry I'm sure you can find a number of careers that would ensure you don't have to deal with any more annoying customers ever again!
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
