Careers In Disability Services

Kicked out of school in last semester, need lawyer.?We Answered:
I see you've been writing about this for two years. It's time to move on.Bad things do happen to good people, and institutions and employers can be arbitrary and abusive, but I have the feeling there's more to this than you've revealed. I'm struck that nobody at the school stood up for you in any effective way. Why is that? Did you alienate absolutely everyone?
You may have a case. The school may have a duty to deal fairly. You have to find a lawyer. It's also revealing that you haven't been able to find a lawyer who will take the case on a contingency basis.

if i already work in disability services how?We Answered:
Apply at a school. Or at Child Protective services. Changing careers is an individual choice. You don't have to stay with one career all of your life if you don't want to. Who knows you may find out that what you know about Disability you can leads kids on the right path for their future.Shawn Said:
Is it ethical to shop at Goodwill if you're not poor?We Answered:
I donate to Goodwill and shop there as well. We don't have a Goodwill close by, but when I get a chance I love to go. I needed a formal dress for some competitions so I went to a formal store and bought a gown on sale for $200. The following week I went to a Goodwill store and bought a gown that was much more beautiful for $15. I've worn the Goodwill gown more and I got more complements on the Goodwill gown then the new one. I also bought a bike for my little girl. I paid $5 for the bike and I know she got $100 worth of riding that bike. There's nothing wrong with shopping there and you're still donating. Just because one has a lot of money doesn't mean one can't be thrifty. Good luck. 2DLillian Said:

Does the Social Security Administration view Degenerative Disc Disease as a disability? We Answered:
Depending on if a doctor has given you a 100% disability rating due to your DDD. I know I have DDD also, but I have some other problems, such as RSD, where my legs, feet and ankles are so swollen, I have to use a walker to get around. And with that, I still scream in pain with every step I take. The doctors have put me on 3 narcotics, along with 2 other prescriptions. I don't know what I am doing most of the time. All these pills make me crazy! Anyway, I just filed for SSDI this last month, in hopes that it will go through the very first month. If it doesn't, I have a lawyer on standby. I just don't want to have the added expense of another lawyer. The doctors have assured me that I should have no problems with getting SSDI. Well, let's just see if that's true. People always question people like us who have true disabilities. I get tired of them asking so many questions about why I can't work at a fast-food joint, etc. Well, for one, I can't even stand - people, I can't lay - people, I can't walk - people, I can't sit - people! I have so much swelling everywhere, that I have been put on bed rest most of the time and that's been for about 19 months now. I also had major back surgery in January for 2 tears in 2 different discs in my lower back, and have had complications from that surgery. Anyway, I am still waiting to hear back from SS, to see if I have been approved. If not, I will continue to fight along side my attorneys, until I get approved. Believe me, I would much rather be out there working for a living than being held like a prisoner in my own house. I can't even drive. Who would want to live their life like this on purpose. You would have to be crazy to want to live like this. I would never want even my worst enemy to go through what I go through every single moment of every single day. The pain is just unbearable and so are all the narcotics! I would suggest you get a doctor to place you on disability before you even file for SSDI. Otherwise, they will want you to see their own doctor and that can get tricky, from what I have heard. Best of luck to you and I hope you heal much better than I did. DDD is a bad probelm to have. I wish other people trusted what we say when we tell them how bad it is!
