well when i joined 2 years ago the vacancy was in the paper but now you can search online for your local nhs ambulance service and find links to applying there. Down here in essex now the way it works is you do a certificate of higher education over 2 years in emergency medical care along side 3 months intensive training, working on ambulances as a trainee for a year then another intensive course and hospital placements. Your nursing will make a lot of the course and the job a lot easier because you have already dealt with the public, patient assesment, dealing with death and taking observations etc. Good luck, it's a very hard job to settle into but worth it once you have
