College Career Services
Maureen Said:
what percentage of college graduates find jobs through the career service department? We Answered:
My sense is that your question is too broad. I've never seen aggregate data on these figures. You'd have to go college by college and see.By "college graduates" do you mean the total number of student who graduate from college in a given year, or the college graduates who seeks support through career service department.

HELP!! Should you still include what high school you graduated in your RESUME after college? We Answered:
Once you have completed yous sophomore year of college there is no need to put what high school you went to unless you have some major accomplishment. I was told it wasnt necessary by career services people and also recruiters at job fair.Terry Said:
thank you gift idea for a career services director at a college? We Answered:
I always like to give "consumable" as gifts. What I mean by that is something the person you are giving to can use. This way they enjoy it, and they don't have to feel obligated to keep it around if the gift isn't their taste or style. For example, maybe some candles which would burn and provide nice ambiance then get thrown out, Instead of a candle holder which someone may not love as a decoration. If she eats healthy maybe a gift card to somewhere like Trader Joe's or Whole Foods Market. She can buy some tasty goodies or both stores have lotions, soaps etc. that she may not normally splurge on and buy for herself.
If you want to get her something pertaining to her profession you could look for a book that may interest her.
Good luck

How much help should I expect of my college's Career Services to land me a job?We Answered:
Don't base your choice of schools on their career service.Identify some companies you might like to work for. Call them and ask which school is better.
Begin looking now for a summer job that is similar to your major. A mechanical engineering consulting company might be a good place to try.

I have some more college questions? We Answered:
What does the U.S. News and World College Rankings show? They are ranks based on a score they assign each college. They use certain criteria to determine these scores. Among the criteria are selectivity, class size and student to teacher ratio.
What is a transfer between colleges?
A transfer is when you go to one college, and after some period of time, you decide you would prefer to be at another college, so you send a transfer application, and if they accept you, you can go to the other college instead, while maintaining credits.
And what are these terms?.....
- graduate school - schools you go to after college in order to receive a professional degree (Medical School, you can receive an M.D. or a Ph. D.)
- financial aid - some people don't have the money required to pay tuition, so since the school is given money from the government, the school pays for a certain amount of your tuition
How many semesters will you complete in an average college career?
2 per year (unless the college has trimesters, which means 3 per year, but they are shorter term) usually over 4 years (2 years at community college), so usually about 8 semesters
What are the differences between these?
Scholarship, Grant, and Loan.
Scholarship is where certain businesses or the school itself rewards you on your accomplishments and your award is that you get some of the money for tuition paid off. Grants and loans are where you are given money from the government that helps you pay tuition. But grants don't need to be paid back. Loans do need to be paid back.
Also, what do career services at colleges do?
They are just ways to help you get your career started after you have completed college.
