I have a question for any one who works for a Community College in Administration? We Answered:
Those jobs are often very competitive--that story about 300 resumes is likely true. You just have to keep trying--that's what finally got me in.If it's a classified (non-exempt) position, then in my state (Washington), they have a very rigid way of reviewing those applications. They ask some essay questions based on the job description, and give each applicant a numerical score based on how well their answers match the job requirements. That means, the more often you use those words and phrases--the *exact* words in the job description--the more points you'll score. This isn't the time for creating writing, where you use new and interesting language to re-state your point each time, and avoid repetition. Say those key words again and again or you won't make it through the first screening!

wanting to know about a career its called community social service worker, there just under a social worker ?We Answered:
I have a master's degree in Multidisciplinary Human Service Management. You absolutely have to go to college. Also try to get as many certifications as possible. Something like a CAC. Chemical Addiction Certification. I do not have this and I wish I did. I am 42 and have been out of school for over ten years and now it is too late to get it.I was told I would have to start all over again.

Best Major if interested in a career of community service? We Answered:
Well finish your degree and your experience will help you where ever you are. Some social worker courses will help open doors for you as will some psychology and sociology courses.Very few have the administrative skills needed to take on a position and why I say your current degree is AWESOME. These others will ground you in person to person situations as well as important areas like boundaries and why they exist in different situations.
