We Answered:

Business Administration is the better of the two choices. It will open more doors down the road for you if you chose to find other career opportunities.

I say it's a SCAM , because they want you to pay and probably get some of your personal information..

I've seen seen these on the news.

I'm thinking about becoming a social worker, does that seem like a good career choice?

We Answered:

I'm not a social worker...

However, I do know that it takes a very patient, sympathetic, firm and strong personality to do social work....

I think the best social workers are those with a lot of life experience themselves... I mean, it is very difficult to help and empathize with people who have problems you can't relate to....

Then again, just having energetic, fresh, outgoing and positive people can be enough to inspire people to improve themselves....

If you're passionate about it, then I say go for it!!

Looking for a Human Resources or an Office job?

We Answered:

You may want to try to get into recruiting. That's how I started in the HR world. Most recruiting companies will train and with your customer service/sales background, that will come in handy! Good luck!

I need a career change and need idea with little or no school?

We Answered:

In this day and age you will need steady employment and good benefits. One company that stands out is Safeway. My son didn't have any college and he got a starting job with safeway as a bagger. After a year he was trained to be a checker and did checking, then he became manager of the bakery department, and later became manager of the vegetable department, and now he is manager of the frozen foods department. He is in training to become an assistant store manager, and later store manager. He has learned everything on the job, and Safeway is good to him, and the other workers like him and respect him. Safeway is a company that looks after its employees. People will always be buying food, and this business will not go bankrupt. There is job security with Safeway, as most, if not all, Safeway stores have a Union, the Retail Clerks Union. The Safeway workers get their raises and all Safeway has to do in order to cover the increase in wages is to raise the price on certain foods that customers pay. This is one of the most secure type jobs in the country, and you won't have to be in an office environment, and you will get to meet people. Your co-workers will become friends and so will some of the customers. By the way, I don't work for Safeway. I am retired from a utility company for which I worked 36 years. They were also a good company to work for. You might want to consider working for a utility company, as they will be needed, and most utility companies don't go bankrupt, and even if they do, they will be able to recover from bankruptcy by raising the rates that customer's pay. I suggest seeking a company to work for that will give you good job security, good benefits, and a retirement. You would be able to contribute to an IRA if the company you work for doesn't have a 401K plan or a retirement plan. The sooner you start saving money in an IRA, the more money you will have when you retire. I suggest not quitting your present job until you have found the new job. You mentioned that you want to work in the legal field, medical, or health and human services. Unless you have a college education or specific training in any of those fields, it will be hard, if not impossible, to find a job in those fields. Were you to want to get training in one of those fields, I would suggest getting as much training as you can in the medical field where you can become an expert in the up and coming field of medical record keeping. President Obama is pushing health care and medical record keeping is a large part of the process that needs revising. You can be part of that process with the proper training. I suggest checking with your community college, if you have one near you, to find out if they have a program in the medical records field where you may attend classes at night to learn the field and get yourself qualified for a job in that field. The people with a certificate that shows that they trained in a particular field, stand a better chance of getting a job than one who doesn't have a certificate such as an Associate in Arts degree from a community college or a certificate showing completion of a particular course of study. The people with the most ambition to better themselves tend to be hired than those who don't do anything to better themselves. Good luck to you in your job search.
