Financial Services Career Opportunities

Nelson Said:

Sales jobs in the insurance/financial services industry?

We Answered:

My guess is that you didn't apply to them directly, but they probably found your resume off of Monster or CareerBuilder. Why are they selling you the job? 1.) Everyone needs insurance and 2.) It's commission only so it scares a lot of people away.

Should you take the job? Depends on what you're comfortable with. If you're willing to take the risk and work on commission only, it could be very profitable for you. But keep in mind that it can take a few weeks-months to get the required licenses, become trained, start making phone calls, and then finally closing your first deal. If you have some money in the bank and available credit to last you a couple a months, I don't think it would hurt to give it a try and get some experience under your belt. Plus, since it's commission only you're not required to be there 9-5 every day, which will give you a chance to go on other interviews and see what else is out there if you're really not feeling it.
