How To Choose A Career
Evelyn Said:
How should I choose my career for the future? We Answered:
Pick something that you FEEL the best about, and don't worry too much, you might want to change you program after first year or first month, it might happen, it happened to me, but even that will not necessary be a bad experience.Joel Said:
How to choose a career that is right for me?We Answered:
oh gosh. I've already graduated from college and I'm still confused! I think that a LOT of people go through what you are going through. Do you have a good career conselor at your school you can talk to? If so, i would highly suggest doing that. You must be a smart girl since you have so many interests. However, I will tell you, I studied vocal performance. Its a bit of a narrow degree to get unless one considers it more like a Liberal Arts degree. I suggest getting something general until you have a better idea of what you want to do. Maybe go to college and get a business degree, but join a biology club and take a few theater courses. I highly do not recommend you pursue theater unless your heart is 100% there. If its not, you will not be successful as there are so many people out there who are 150% dedicated to being an actor/actress...and its tough competition!
Good luck! I know this isn't easy!

How does one choose a career for oneself? We Answered:
I believe and will always believe that if you enjoy a subject in school, then persue that subject and look for a job in that field. I have told my children that if you can find something you enjoy doing and you can make a job out of it, then you will never work one day in your life. Good luck!!!Billy Said:
How did you choose which career to pursue? (Please answer, I need some honest guidance.)?We Answered:
I am really just starting a career myself at the age of 30. Yeah that's right thirty. actually I'm going to school to become an accountant, or a financial advisor. i started out after high school , in retail, did a little management, then joined the U.S. Navy. for 8 years. i really had no direction to go. but one thing i had done, it may be stupid, but i took those career matching things you see online sometimes, and a lot of them came up with the same answer; Finance or Accounting Field. The thing is I'm not good with math beyond basic. But my Professor says that accounting is really based on the method of sorting things, and I'm really good at that so i thought i would give it a try. so i suggest take a few test. also see if you can categorize your self, into traits you have that will match a job skill. for example, accountants are very analytical, and I'm pretty close to that.Jorge Said:
How do i choose what career path to choose when i have no idea?We Answered:
Obviously a careers advisor, but the bes thing is to ask yourself what you really want to do. I dont mean which job title, I mean what kind of people do you want to work with. When you know this you can research what sort of jobs are available.I had no idea the probation service existed. I did a criminology degree at 48! Don't end up like me...research, ask, think, listen. Just make some time for you. Good luck. You'll get there!

As a junior in High School you still have some time to decide even if you are not sure when you graduate from high school you can get the preliminary courses out of the way first (you will have to do that anyway) Just remember you will more than likely be doing this job for 40 years and although money is important your happiness is Paramount, So only you can decide what that will be. As far as struggling in college, Allot of people do but it is only for a short time when you are looking at a career that you will be doing for some 40 years. Good luck to you And congratulations on choosing a higher education in what ever field you do.
