Jo Said:

how does the whole joining the air force to pay for college work?

We Answered:

If he joins the reserves then he will be able to use his GI bill to pay for school. He will be required to sign up for at least four years of service to be eligible for his GI bill. He will not have to attend a military school, he can keep going to Kennesaw, but he will have to put it on hold while he goes to basic training and tech school. If he chooses not to go to school while he is in the military then he will have 10 years after the completion of his contract to use his GI bill. If he chooses to go active duty then he will be able to recieve 100% tution assistance while he is in the military. He probably will not be able to go to Kennesaw and will have to attend a local school around the base he gets stationed at or go to school online. Either way the military will help him pay for school. Just tell him not to join for this sole purpose. The military is a life style change, and joining just for the education benefits is not a good idea. Make sure that it is somthing that he really wants to do.
